Looker Studio SEO report. 5. Google Search Console connector
In my previous articles of Looker Studio SEO monthly report series I have observed different connectors (you can read them here – part 1, part 2, part 3, part 4) and in this chapter I am going to observe Google Search Console connector.
As you may remember from the first video, in terms of Google Search Console you can choose a website or url. Let’s start observing the data from the website connector.
Here is the video, if you prefer this format:
KPIs overview
As we can see, the KPIs here are Impressions, CTR, Clicks, Average Position and Queries.
In the first section, beside KPIs, I have created a chart that shows the Impressions and Average Position in Dynamics. Also, I have created a table that contains data about the queries and corresponding to their KPIs. Basically, this table shows the performance of the keywords.
Device overview
In this section I have added a table with bars containing info about device categories and our KPI stats. Besides, I decided to add pie charts because in this case it would be the best option to see what devices are used the most by users. So, I have created two pie charts for Impressions and Clicks.
Geosgraphical overview
Google Search Console doesn’t show the cities in the geographical section, only countries. So, the geographical overview section contains a table with website performance with a country split and a geo chart. In a geo chart I used impressions as a main metric and also added other KPIs like optional metrics.
URL general info
Using the URL connector, we get slightly different metrics and dimensions. Among Dimensions we have:
- Date
- Country
- Device category
- Google property
- Landing page
- Query
Landing page overview
Using the metrics of the report I’ve added a heatmap table where I have used the Landing page as a dimension. It means that we can check the performance of each page separately. Moreover, you can click the link in the table to see the page in a new tab.
