If you’re actively working with Pinterest or managing Pinterest ad campaigns, this Looker Studio template is a game-changer. It consolidates your data and provides meaningful insights to help you make informed decisions.
I strongly advise you to check out the video overview of this report template:
So, let’s dive into what the report includes!
Page 1: Google Analytics 4 Data (Filtered for Pinterest Traffic)
The report itself consists of 2 pages, and the first of them is dedicated to Google Analytics 4 data, filtered by the search word “pinterest”.
In my case, I have used sample data, therefore there may not be a lot of data. But as soon as you connect your data source, you will see all the beauty of this report!
The first page starts with the KPI score boxes. Among them we can see Active Users, New Users, Average Session Duration, Conversions, Event Count and Event Count per User.
As you can see, in every score box there is a comparison with the previous month and the same month last year.
Later on, there is a chart that shows us the data about the active and new users day by day. In this chart you can use optional metrics to show and compare different data in a time series chart. Besides that, you can use the drill down (arrows in the right top corner) to switch to month by month view mode.
The next chart is a pivot table that shows how many active users there were every month based on a Session source / medium. There also are optional metrics at your disposal.
The following chart is vital, in realties of Pinterest analytics. This chart gives you a full understanding of pages and screens the users have visited. Here you can see the number of Views, Sessions, Active Users, Engaged sessions, Event count, Conversions, Event count per user and also a Conversion Rate. You can choose the metrics you want to display in optional metrics settings.
Going down the report, we can see two charts that show us a Day of Week and an Hour of a day when the users were the most active.
Below this section, you can find some geographical data about your users in charts that show users by country and users by country over time.
Page 2: Windsor.ai Pinterest Data Integration
The second page is where things get even more exciting.
Unfortunately, there is no way to connect Pinterest to Looker Studio directly, so to do it I need to use a paid connector, for example the Windsor.ai connector that I really prefer.
What kind of data can we get, using this connector? Let’s check in the report.
First of all we have the score boxes. Account follower count, Account pin count, Account monthly views, Pin impression, Pin click and Pin Save – these are some of the metrics Windsor.ai provides us. You can also compare it over the same period.
Secondly, we have a time series chart where we can see the Account followers, Pin clicks and Pin total reactions day by day, or, similarly, you can switch it to the month-to-month view mode. Here you can also use the optional metrics.
One more interesting thing you can find in this report is the Board analytics. It gives you general information about the board, like the Name of the Board, Creation date, Board description, Board image, Board owner, Board Follower Count (+percentage) and Board Pin Count (+percentage).
The next is the table with the detailed pin analytics.
Last but not least, the section dedicated to the Pinterest Ads.
Here we can see the score boxes with Spend, Paid Impressions, User search, Paid engagements, Engagement rate and CPM data.
Summary
This report is suitable for individuals as well as for agencies. I am pretty sure that this report template is going to save you a plenty of time and effort, because it’s much easier to use than dealing with Google Analytics. Connecting Pinterest using Windsor.ai makes your work so much easier – there are two Pinterest connectors (Pinterest Ads and Pinterest Organic) provided by Windsor.ai.
