How to install Windsor.ai add-on to Google Sheets?

Continuing the series of Google Sheets add-ons overview, today I would like to tell you about Windsor.ai. I discovered it comparatively recently, nevertheless I started using it a lot in my work and I want to share it with you.

Generally, add-ons are really useful if you are struggling with exporting data from ads platforms to Sheets. There is a big variety of add-ons that can help you export different types of data. To see what Windsor.ai can offer you, I advise you to check out our Paid Ads template using Windsor.ai connector.

How to install Windsor.ai add-on

First of all, open the menu ‘Extensions’, then click ‘Add-ons’ and after that ‘Get add-on’.

In the search field, type “Windsor.ai”. Having chosen the add-on, click on it and install it.

Here you will have two options – Admin install and Individual Install (if you are working on a company account). I am going to choose an Individual install. The following steps are pretty easy, authenticate and allow access for the add-on. Then you will see a pop-up “ Windsor.ai has been installed”.

Windsor.ai additional setup

In this pop-up you will have a chance to go for additional setup. Once you click it, you will be transferred to Windsor.ai website.

In the right panel you have to choose the platform you need to extract data from. I have chosen Google Analytics 4 (App + Web). Then you need to select and connect your GA4 account to Windsor.ai

Then you will have your data from GA4 compiled into one document – you can download it separately in .json and .csv formats, or view it online right on the website.

Next to the json and csv buttons you will see a link that contains API key. You need to copy it and switch back to Google Sheets.

Find Windsor AI in the list of installed extensions and click “Log in”.

Here is where you need to insert your API key to get your data. After you insert it, you’re ready to work!

There is going to appear a panel on the right side of your screen, and it is very easy to use. Press “Add new query”.

The settings here are simple. Insert a query name, create a name for a target sheet, select a data source (in my case, Google Analytics 4), choose an account, set up date range, filters and schedule to refresh the data automatically, and load the data. That’s it – you will see a tab full of data.

It was pretty easy, wasn’t it? But it can be easier – check out our template store, there are a lot of different reports and everything is pre-set! Using the connector like Windsor.ai you will import your data in 5 minutes and you’ll have a ready to use report!
